The Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA), within the last two months, has provided over $10 Million dollars’ worth of donations and other relief efforts to various communities and organizations. The GGDMA relief effort began on March 31, 2020 with the establishment of a GGDMA COVID 19 Relief Account at Demerara Bank Ltd.
The Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) supports the position that mining, an essential industry, must continue to function. At this time, when Guyana needs all the economic help it can get, mining provides valuable jobs and as such has been recognised as an essential service.
