Donation to the Sea Otters Swim Academy

The GGDMA this afternoon made a donation to the Sea Otters Swim Academy to assist young Ms. Jonte Menezes to represent the Club at the VOS Suriname End of Year Swim Meet to be held in Suriname from December 15-16, 2018.

GGDMA PRESS RELEASE ON “TOWARDS THE BAN ON MERCURY”.

Once again, the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association [GGDMA] publicly affirms its unequivocal support for the Minamata Convention on mercury. We also make it crystal clear that in keeping with the tenor of the Convention the Government of Guyana is required to provide technical and financial assistance to Small Scale miners so that gold mining can be done in a responsible manner.

Further, the GGDMA reaffirms that decisions that affect the mining sector must be based on valid data and sound science. We do believe that our firm positions on these matters are well known. Read more
